Overeating Causes Memory Loss
Overesting causes memory loss
A study released today and scheduled to be presented at the American Academy of Neurology's 64th Annual Meeting in New Orleans. The researchers demonstrated that those people aged over 70 who had more than 2100 calories a day were more likely to lose memory.
The results demonstrate a dose response, so the more calories consumed the greater the memory loss. This is an important study that shows how important maintaining a healthy weight and a healthy diet will have on our memory.
As we age there are changes which occur in the cells in our brain that maintain memory. Healthy eating has been shown to help reduce the decline in nerve function, particularly dementia and alzheimers. These are important elements to acheiving a healthy life as we age.
