A new study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that soy milk compared to cow's milk protein supplementation improves cholesterol. 
The study looked at the effect of soy and milk protein supplementation on cholesterol and other blood fats. Many studies show that soy protein reduces LDL ("bad") cholesterol and increases HDL (" good") cholesterol.

In this study, total cholesterol reduction as well as the total vs HDL cholesterol ratio drop was significant with soy protein supplementation compared with carbohydrate. Another interesting point is that soy protein supplementation dramatically increased HDL and significantly reduced total vs HDL cholesterol ratio along with a reduction in LDL cholesterol, all pointing to a healthier heart.
