A healthy diet is a very important part of your energy levels. Here are 10 food tips to improve your energy levels.


1. Eat smaller more frequent meals, ever feel so full that you just want to sleep, well avoid that feeling by having regular snacks through the day. Aim to eat every three hours or so.


2. An apple a day, eating fruit is a quick healthy fix.


3. Make sure you are well hydrated, drink lots of water.


4. Whole grain foods take longer for the body to break down so this will give you a steady energy level all day.


5. Avoid too much sugar, it will give you a quick energy fix but the crash after your glucose levels lower again is worse than before you ate the sugar.


6. Don’t skip breakfast either, so many people don’t eat breakfast and it’s the most important meal of the day for a reason. It will fuel you up for the rest of the day.


7. Get lots of protein, not getting enough protein can make you feel wiped out, so snack on some mixed nuts or some whole grain toast with peanut butter.


8. Drink some tea, research tells us that tea contain an amino acid called L-thionine that make alert but relaxed.


9. Coffee can be a great stimulant, but too much can cause anxiety, atrial fibrillation (racing heart) and high blood pressure so go easy, try not to have any more than 3 or 4 cups a day.


10. Try a herbal tea. Chamomile, valerian root, pepper mint, and ginseng are all great in teas and will relax you and rid stress to make you feel revitalized and fresh. Drinking herbal teas can not only help boost your mood and your energy levels it can also help you lose weight.
